Pro 7
The Heil Pro 7 is an aviation-style headset designed for amateur radio use in high-noise environments. The specially designed foam-gel ear pads provide 26 dB outside noise reduction and provide exceptional comfort. A true dual-channel, stereo headset, the Pro 7 features an audio balance control that allows the user to adjust the level of the left earphone to match the right. A unique phase-reversal switch greatly helps the listener “dig out” weak signals. The latest version of the Pro 7 features a monitor jack, which allows a second operator to plug in headphones and monitor audio.
The flexible gooseneck mic boom on Pro 7s may be rotated for use on either the right or left ear. Two production versions are available, depending on whether you require a dynamic or electret microphone element. However, the microphone elements are easily interchangeable, allowing you to swap out elements to be used with different rigs or for contesting or DX purposes. All Pro 7 models are available in black or blue finishes and include the following accessories:

The balance control located on the left speaker controls the left speaker. To use, set a comfortable right side level with the AF gain of the receiver. You can then adjust the left side speaker where necessary to balance the audio between the speakers. In most cases, the balance control will be close to maximum.

The Heil Pro Set 3 professional stereo headphones have been designed for a wide variety of applications including amateur radio, studio recording, commercial broadcast use, and casual listening. With a frequency response of 10 Hz to 22 kHz, they deliver exceptional articulation and clarity, with beautiful sonic accuracy in a closed back, lightweight headset. The over-ear headphones weigh only 7 oz. and feature padded ear cups so that they will be comfortable and non-fatiguing over long periods of time.
For ham radio operators and listeners, the exclusive Heil Phase Reversal switch allows the user to move the signal acoustically, which creates a spatial widening of the sound field that makes it easier to ‘see’ a signal inside a pileup while removing listener fatigue during prolonged use.
To accommodate different listening situations, the headphones come included with two detachable cables: a 5.9′ flexible straight cable with a 1/8″ headphone plug and a 9.8′ coiled cable with a 1/8″ headphone plug. The cables have twist-lock terminating 1/8″ gold-plated connectors. A 1/4″ gold-plated screw-on adapter comes included with the headphones.
Pro Set
The Heil Pro Set is designed to meet the exacting standards of world-class Contest and DX operators. The Pro Set is available in two models: Pro Set 6 and Pro Set iC. Both are lightweight, versatile headsets designed for comfort, durability, and, performance. The earpieces are full-sized, with heavily-padded cushions for operator comfort during long operating stints. The ear pad covers are removable for washing, and replacement pads are also available (see our Accessories and Parts page). The Pro Set features Heil Sound’s exclusive phase reversal technology, which allows the user to “move” the incoming signal by engaging the phase-reversal switch; this creates a unique spatial widening sound that can, in some situations, significantly improve copy in a tough DX pile-up.
The speakers in the Pro Set series are 200-Ohm nominal devices, with a -3 dB point at 8000 Hz. This combination reduces hiss found in receiver audio stages. These speakers exhibit medium sensitivity but are easily driven by most rigs by turning the AF Gain control up to about 2 o’clock.
Each Pro Set is equipped with a windscreen for the microphone. The windscreen does not affect the frequency response of the microphone, and it is highly effective in minimizing breath blasts while you’re speaking.

The Handie Talkie Headset (HTH) is a lightweight headset designed for use with popular handheld transceivers. It is available in a single-sided or dual-sided version. The HTH provides hands-free and discreet two-way communication while maintaining the comfort necessary for extended use in moderate noise environments. The single-sided model features an adaptable earpiece for left or right ear setup and both models have an in-line Push-to-Talk (PTT) switch.
The HTH is available in three different output connections:
– HTH-I: Works with 2-pin iCOM *
– HTH-Y: Works with TRRS Yaesu/Vertex **
– HTH-K: Works with 2-pin Kenwood, Baofeng, and Wouxon

FS-3 Single Foot Switch
The Heil FS-3 is a single-channel foot switch to control the transmit/receive function of an amateur radio transceiver. An 8′ shielded cable is terminated with a commercial 1/4″ plug that is compatible with all Heil adapter cables.
The hinge bar, secured with “C” fasteners, is a solid chrome rod runs through the top and bottom plates eliminating threaded screws.

The Heil Parametric Receive Audio System Equalizer (PRAS EQ) is a state-of-the-art audio processor that enhances the internal audio systems of amateur radio, shortwave, commercial, and CB receivers. The PRAS EQ allows radio operators to modify, shape, and improve the audio output of their receivers using three separate equalization controls.
Midrange frequencies are the most critical for achieving clear voice articulation in receive audio. The PRAS EQ allows operators to have unique control over these important frequencies. First, operators can adjust the parametric midrange filter (MID FREQUENCY) from 400 Hz through 4 kHz, with the recommended sweet spot being at 2.5 kHz. In addition, operators can control the presence of these midrange frequencies plus or minus 15 dB using the MID GAIN control. Combined with a low-frequency filter (LOW) set at 160 Hz, and a high-frequency filter (HIGH) set at 6 kHz, the PRAS provides operators unparalleled control and quality of their receive audio.
Featuring three audio input and three audio output connections, the PRAS EQ is an excellent addition to any rig, and is especially useful in pulling out weak or noisy signals in DX and contest work.
The PRAS EQ is intended to be used with the Heil HPS-5 powered speaker (the PRAS EQ must be used with a powered speaker). For headphone use, the PRAS EQ also features two independent headphone amplifiers, each with its own 1/8” output and level control. The headphone outputs do not bypass the external audio out connections.
This product is transitioning to new packaging and contents. New stock PRAS EQ are now supplied with a 2.5 mm barrel to powerpole adapter cable that is compatible with common 12-volt, 2-amp DC power supplies. New stock PRAS EQ are no longer supplied with a 12-volt power supply. Stock shipped directly from Heil will be the new stock as stated. Please be aware that dealers may have old, new, or mixed stock.
